Northern Ireland Regional Seascape Character Assessment

As lead consultant, Douglas worked in collaboration with Countryscape, Fiona Fyfe Associates and KP Environmental on behalf of the Northern Ireland Environment Agency to produce a Regional Seascape Character Assessment along the entire Northern Ireland coast.


Callander Landscape Capacity Study for Development

Douglas is a consultant landscape advisor to the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Authority and working in collaboration with Buchan Landscape Architecture and Janet Falkingham Consultancy, he led on the production of capacity study of the landscape surrounding the town of Callander to accommodate a range of development types including housing, business, tourism and recreational based developments.


Talking About Our Place

Working in collaboration with Countryscape, Douglas co-authored a toolkit for Scottish Natural Heritage to help communities shape landscape change in their local area through an ‘ecosystem service’ approach.


Landscape Character Assessment Training

On behalf of the Devon Landscape Policy Group and working in association with Countryscape, Douglas designed and delivered a series of training workshops to approximately 80 delegates on the use of landscape character assessments in planning and land management.


Conserving Character - Landscape Character Assessment & Management Guidance for the Dorset AONB

Whilst working for the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Partnership, Douglas produced a Landscape Character Assessment for the AONB. This was developed through extensive community engagement and informed the subsequent production of the 2008-2013 AONB Management Plan.
